Technology hacked my whiskey!

You see, I love drinking a glass while it’s snowing out.

I’m nearly finished with a locally distilled Hudson Valley double barrel rye.

As I took a sip the other night, I noticed an email from the distiller. It was an offer for 10% off the next bottle I buy.

I couldn’t help but wonder:

How’d the distiller know that I liked this whiskey and was nearly ready for another bottle?

I looked back through my emails and found that I’d bought the bottle from a merchant using Square — the mobile payment app. The receipt was fully itemized with the time, date, category and expenditure.

That’s when the lightbulb went on. I recognized this as the wave of the future. Goodbye credit cards and hard cash … hello mobile, digital payments.

And you know when new-world technology like this sweeps into our everyday lives that an opportunity for you to profit is right behind it.

With holiday shopping going full speed ahead, this is the perfect time to get in on the mobile payment revolution before the market rockets nearly 320% higher.

Trade in Your Cash for a Digital Wallet

If you’re not familiar with Square, the company is like a digital wallet. Paul Mampilly even talked about its new stock feature in its CashApp in his Bold Profits Daily this week.

The stores I shop at use the Square app. So now, the places I go know exactly what brands I’m buying, where, who I dine with and when I’m spending.

It may sound like an invasion of privacy, but to me it offers terrific benefits.

Before Square, my credit card company knew all of that same information — except one thing. It had no insight into the basket of brands that composed my total bill.

The merchants might have known what I (or some code representing me) bought in their stores, but they weren’t able to connect me to those transactions since they didn’t also handle the payments.

There was a ton of data spread across many entities, but it was like splitting up the pieces of a puzzle. Nobody was able to see the whole picture.

Not anymore.

Now mobile payments companies can put the whole puzzle together. They facilitate a flow of data from customers, merchants and banks that allows them to accumulate all the puzzle pieces.

By serving more relevant ads at more relevant times, they offer advertisers a higher conversion rate to increase sales. It’s also good for consumers, since brands can better understand their customers and keep them satisfied.

I like that my favorite brands can see me voting for them through my spending. And I don’t think I’m alone in this. If I’m going to get a ton of coupons in my email, I’d prefer them to be for things I actually want to buy.

Tap Into the $3.7 Trillion Mobile Money Boom

Here’s the big bonus: Mobile, digital payments are a huge and growing mega trend that gives us a great investment opportunity.

This year, for instance, some 35% of Black Friday sales were done with smartphone apps and 65% of all e-commerce flowed through a mobile device. And it seems likely that such payments will be the biggest ever this holiday season.

In 2018, the mobile payment market hit $881 billion. It’s estimated to reach $3.7 trillion by 2024.

So, how can you leverage this trend from an investment standpoint?

The best way to get in on the mobile payments bonanza is through the ETFMG Prime Mobile Payments ETF (NYSE: IPAY).

This exchange-traded fund (ETF) invests in companies focused on payment processing and solutions, the infrastructure and software underlying those solutions, or credit card networks.

IPAY is up 38% this year and has almost doubled over the last five years. Mobile money is here.
